Keeping You On The Water

At Team Windcraft Service Centre, Robert runs a tight ship, ensuring your yacht is serviced quickly and to the highest standard. As a keen sailor who doesn’t like to be far from the water for any length of time…

Robert makes it his priority to get your boat back out on the water as soon as possible. Robert brings to the service centre extensive experience in staff management, recruitment, training, sales and customer relations.

He ensures the Service Centre runs smoothly and efficiently. His outstanding management skills, love of boating and technical skill combine to ensure you and your yacht are looked after every step of the way. “…taking care of our customers and their boats is my dream job”

Robert has been a keen sailor since sailing Manly Juniors out of Balmoral as a child. His love of sailing and boats, combined with his strong customer service ethic led him to want to help people get the most out of their boats. Robert has sailed extensively through his life and has enjoyed twilight races for over 30 years. He has had previous roles in sales and marketing with Team Sail (during which he helped deliver yachts to Hamilton Island), Neverfail Springwater , Wild Leitz Australia and has been involved with several other businesses.

“My exposure to high-end electro mechanics and precision electronics has given me a good understanding of what is needed to deal with every situation and on every inch of our yachts,” says Robert.

Robert describes Windcraft as a beautiful place to work, with a relaxed environment. His management style is to instill a culture of accountability and trust in his team, empowering them to make decisions.

After three and a half years, Robert is still energised by the people around him- great people to work with and great owners to work for.

He loves the fun and variety of his role, the fact that here is never a dull moment and he is proud that through the service they provide, boat owners become friends. Regarding his customers, Robert says ’You put yourself in their shoes, and you give them what you hope you would get in their position’

Robert enjoys the challenges that come with a growing business, as the team works towards upscaling their systems to provide the same exceptional level of service. Owners rallies, boat shows and sail aways keep things interesting.

‘And of course at Windcraft I am surrounded by experts in every area – so if I don’t know the answers one of the team does.” People, gadgets and boats are what I enjoy!”

When not focussed on the Service Centre, Robert’s love of sailing still lights a spark.

His recent experience in the Sydney to Hobart, with wonderful people on a beautiful boat was a highlight for him.

And no less fun are his adventures with the team out on their Solings, weekends at Woody Point Yacht Club and crewing on a Hanse at the Royal Motor Yacht Club.

Robert says it’s the company’s philosophy of genuinely aiming for the best solution for their customers that sets it apart. The calibre of staff and industry expertise mean you get the best outcome possible.

Robert marks a successful day as one that ends with a happy customer. His tight knit team share a service oriented mindset, and team activities such as Tuesday night tennis keep with team motivated and connected.
